Copilot enhances the M365 apps you use every day.

With an overwhelming number of AI productivity tools being released, I've put together a beginner-friendly overview of my top pick for 2023: Microsoft Copilot.

What is Copilot?

Copilot is an AI-powered time saver. Your first-draft partner for work. It works alongside you, embedded in the Microsoft 365 apps you use every day. "Copilot combines the power of large language models (LLMs) with your data in the Microsoft Graph—your calendar, emails, chats, documents, meetings, and more—and the Microsoft 365 apps to turn your words into the most powerful productivity tool on the planet. And it does so within our existing commitments to data security and privacy in the enterprise" (Microsoft).

Copilot in Word collaborates with you in real-time, assisting with tasks like writing, editing, summarizing, and creating documents. Copilot can generate initial drafts, incorporate information from your organization, suggest tones, enhance arguments, and maintain consistency to improve improving writing efficiency and quality.

Copilot in Outlook is your email sidekick, helping you breeze through your inbox and communicate more effectively. It summarizes long email threads, captures different perspectives, and simplifies drafting responses, all while pulling in relevant content from across Microsoft 365.

Copilot in Excel is like having a data-savvy partner that assists in analyzing and understanding your data. By asking questions in plain language, Copilot uncovers correlations, suggests what-if scenarios, and proposes new formulas, generating models that allow you to explore your data without making changes.
